Derek's long, brave battle ended peacefully this morning August 24 at 4:45. The three of us were holding him, and he was not in pain. The hope of heaven is cemented in our broken hearts.
Heather, I'm a friend of Kevin and Kathy and have been following Derek's long fought battle. I have been praying for your boy for so long! My heart cries out for your family and my prayers are now for peace and comfort for you. I pray you will rest in the promise of seeing Derek again, whole and renewed, arms wide open. Vince and Heather and your kids, Your Kansas Cousins send prayers for you to the Throne of God. Just heard the news two days ago from Aunt Mauretta. Our hearts are hurting for your loss, We don't even have the words to express. Loving you from Kansas, and pray that God wraps his arms around each and every one of you during this tough time.
