When we checked in to the ER yesterday, Derek's labs showed his hemoglobin was only 6.3. So after they transferred him to the oncology unit, he received blood which helped him feel a little bit better, though he continues to have a constant dry cough. Today the nose swab culture came back
positive for RSV. So now we know at least part of what is going on. He has continued to have fever and fast heart rate today and the persistent cough that wears him out. Tonight they did an EKG and when the tech removed one of the stickers on his wrist, it created a big bruise. I asked what his platelets are and they told me this morning they were only 13, so likely he will be getting platelets tomorrow. Thank you all so much for your continued prayers. We will see what God will do.
