It has been an intense two days since Derek was transferred to the PICU. I'm sorry I haven't posted any updates, but I knew many of you would keep praying even not knowing how things were going. Even though Derek's situation has been critical, certain happenings
have assured us of God's presence and orchestration of events. We are in His care overall. Derek remains in PICU and on the CPAP to assist him with breathing. There is still significant congestion in his lungs that may still get worse before it gets better. They have been trying to ween down his oxygen percentage to see how he handles it. He was at 45%-50% overnight Sunday and part of Monday and did fairly well unless he had to get out of bed. He is still spiking fevers but perhaps a little less frequently and with a little lower peaks. Sunday night was a little more restful than the night before. A good night nurse makes a big difference. Vince and Kristen came up on Monday, and Vince stayed at the hospital last night to give me a much needed rest. It is so nice to all be together again! Thank you so much for your faithfulness in continuing to pray for Derek. He is still much in need of your prayers on his behalf and has a very long way to go.
