So things have not gotten better for Derek since my last post. Yesterday was crazy. He got blood and platelets in addition to several lengthy electrolyte drips and new medications. Because Derek has no white cells, he has nothing to fight this RSV. The doctors decided at last to give him IVIg in the hopes
that it would help. So far it has not, but we need to give it more time. He has steadily gotten more and more lung congestion and is on constant oxygen flow which they have to keep increasing. Any time he is off it for even walking to the bathroom, he feels dizzy. We have a portable oxygen tank in the bathroom to hook him up while he's there. In addition, he continues to spike fevers. This is one nasty virus for people who have nothing to fight it. Derek needs to get his white count back. Would you pray specifically for this? Thanks.
